#911Truth WTFact #34: “Reminiscent of a controlled demolition” – Geraldo Rivera
Did you miss the introduction to this year’s campaign?
The reason activists speak out about 9/11 Truth is because there is so much questionable information available that you never know what will reach someone on a personal level. The average truther tries to wake up virtually everyone he or she can. Some are more zealous than others, which Geraldo Rivera found out after a September 2007 encounter with WeAreChange, 9/11 Truth and Alex Jones listeners. Protesters bullhorned a live Fox News broadcast with the 9/11 Truth message, chanting “9/11 was an inside job”, which understandably, got under the skin of the Fox crew. Sometimes the disruptive nature of the truth movement is necessary to call attention to the crimes of 9/11.
Debunker may not be the right word for Geraldo because that word implies that he’s someone who undertakes the active effort to discredit 9/11 Truth claims. Geraldo originally just dismissed the claims of 9/11 Truth without considering the merits. Maybe he did actually consider the evidence but didn’t get convincing info, or maybe even got wrong information which he later found out to be wrong. Whatever the case, Geraldo was someone that did not question the official 9/11 reports and actually thought that 9/11 “truthers” were crazy, at least the ones in the video below

“What? 9/11 was an inside job? Ohhhh get a life”
“Communist group? I don’t know who the hell they are”
“I think these demonstrators are all into restroom gay sex”
“They really are one of the least attractive groups of demonstrators I’ve ever seen”

Extraordinarily, just 3 years later, Geraldo revealed that he was considering the merits of the BuildingWhat.org campaign to call attention to the demolition of WTC Building 7. On the Nov. 19, 2010 taping of his Fox News show. He does not go as far to say that the attacks were an inside job, but insinuates that he does not believe the official physics defying fairy tale listed in the Commission report. Below, he discusses Building 7 awareness with an engineer and the father of a victim.
Geraldo Interviews Bob McIlvaine and Tony Szamboti on 9/11 Truth (Nov. 13, 2010)
This story is remarkable because it represents the 180 degree change of mind that is possible with time and the right information. More importantly, the controversial nature of 9/11 Truth requires that a case be presented in the right forum and with the right delivery. We have discussed here and here the variables that keep some people from fully evaluating 9/11 Truth among other conspiracies. If Geraldo Rivera can put aside the disinfo and politics abound at Fox News and at least let the light in, it is possible for 9/11 Truth to go mainstream.
To be fair, we don’t know exactly what Geraldo Rivera believes about the rest of the attacks and who’s responsible, but the fact that he spoke his mind in this limited fashion, on international television, is a promising sign. Thank you Geraldo.
