Did you miss the introduction to this year’s campaign?

Let’s just say the police state has grown since last year.

… the Terror War led to a dramatic increase in the resort to terror, and even torture, by America itself, including against its own citizens. In this context it is relevant that Cheney and Rumsfeld, through their participation in the Defense Department’s super-secret Doomsday Project, had also been part of Continuity of Government (COG) planning for undermining the U.S. Bill of Rights by the warrantless surveillance and detention of dissenters. These plans, dating back to the fear of Communists in the McCarthyite 1950s, have been the underpinnings for the elaborate plans in the Pentagon and elsewhere for dealing with antiwar protests against the Pentagon’s plans for global domination.

For a clear indication of the hidden agendas behind the 9/11 attacks, look no further than the congealing global police state. The world’s current discourse is not an accident, but the result of a larger plan. The attacks were used to generate the extreme atmosphere of fear and apathy needed for a police state to flourish.

The police state is part of the globalist plan for the future of society, designed to consolidate power and wealth, while pushing the growing poverty further away from downtown. The police state is also being portrayed as necessary in a world of becoming increasingly impoverished and more violent as a result. The changes come at a time when many countries are being forced to make difficult choices on what to cut out of their budgets. The money in the military industrial complex is also a factor, for every security risk, there is a contractor eager to receive a government check.

With the global economy wilting again, the middle class in America is beginning to understand how serious the financial problems are. That is not to say that Americans understand the cause, as this is not a left or right problem, but a debt problem similar to the rest of the developed nations. The cause of the problem and the solution come from the same people and is just disguised as the necessary response, when it is really the desired effect. A police state simply reinforces whatever the status quo is at the time and given that we live in an ultra-corrupt world that only works for those with wealth and connections, that is the dynamic which is being crystallized.

The excerpt below accurately captures the growing American police state, marked by abuse of power and intimidation of the public. More Americans may be receptive if more events like the Batman shooting happen more often.

As we have previously documented, airport security style checkpoints and inspection procedures are already in place at bus terminals, train stations, and are rapidly being expanded to the streets of America.

Agents have even been spotted roaming around at public events such as sports games and music concerts, and even at high school proms.

The TSA even moved beyond its own borders this summer as agents were dispatched to airports in London for the Olympic Games.

The TSA has also announced its intention to expand the VIPR program to include roadside inspections of commercial vehicles, setting up a network of internal checkpoints and rolling out security procedures already active in airports, bus terminals and subway stations to roads and highways across the United States.

These internal checkpoints, run by Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, and the TSA, involve trucks being scanned with backscatter x-ray devices in the name of “safety” and “counter terrorism”.

Homeland Security is also developing technology to be used at “security events” which purports to monitor “malintent” on behalf of an individual who passes through a checkpoint.

If you weren’t sure if you read the last sentence right, you probably did, they are talking about Minority Report style “precrime” detection, reading your mind.

The police state has been justified, in America at least, by the war on terror and out of that the militarization of local police forces has accelerated. The police state takes on the tone of the national conversation. The Bush administration used the war on terror to change the psyche of Americans, almost to the point of post traumatic stress disorder. Entertainment also glamorizes the violent aspects of the war, and whether intended or not, has the deleterious effect of desensitizing people to the inhumane behavior portrayed. That circuitous cycle is the downward spiral that has allowed the steady erosion of personal dignity that the police state brings. The line is blurred on what is acceptable from law enforcement in terms surveillance, physical force and what actually constitutes a crime. It has reached a point now where the public is split in two factions, one that ignores the police state brutality, the other that speaks against it, such as in Anaheim recently.

The defining effect of the police state is the state of mind inflicted on the public. It takes on a feel similar to Stockholm syndrome which highlights the relationship between that of a hostage and a captor. This relationship is characterized by terror in the mind of the victims and accordingly adjusts their behavior. The mental abuse pacifies most of those subjected to it, the others stand out by their defiance, in whatever form it comes, leaving them sticking out like a nail about to get hammered. This crushing control is exactly the desired effect that the new world order is achieving, blind submission to the police state uniforms.

How do they generate this blind submission? This effect is achieved by the same methods acclimating prisoners to their new cell. The TSA has been using personnel with criminal sexual offender pasts to grope you, even down to the genitals. You also have the option of choosing to go through the useless full body scanners which virtually “unzip” your DNA (also something the NWO is interested in). The effect of involuntary touching is something that affects the psyche of even the most stable or indifferent individuals. For that individual who tries to avoid or ignore the police state, one trip through American airports will at least leave an impression.

Former Miss USA Susie Castillo’s experience woke up a lot of people

The psychological effect of this treatment not only breaks people of resistance, but changes the standards of the public at large. Things that were once unacceptable by police become tolerated over time, not just the physical abuse but the violation of privacy has led to the expansion of the surveillance state. The anonymity of the internet is disappearing with the widespread usage of personal information, combined with the collection of all kinds of data, down to your grocery list at the supermarket. Most people don’t fully grasp what this power grab means for the future of society, and probably won’t until it’s too late.

Why would small groups of people want to control your life like that? To explain that fully, you must read more than one article on the subject, or you can do the video version. For the sake of this article, you will have to assume we are correct, but look no further than the London riots and the more volatile Occupy protests. The state will protect itself at all costs and this rapid change in just 11 years was made possible only by the September 11th attacks.

The prevailing mindset of western governments has centered around the war on terrorism since 9/11. In the intelligence community, the war on terror is recognized to be a controlled propaganda campaign, which even the former U.S. National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski testified to in a Senate hearing.

This revelation on the creation and management of Al Qaeda is something that has spread within alternative media circles over the last few years and is clearly worrying the police state establishment. If this myth were to be unraveled by the public at large, the ramifications would be wide for current and past officials. This is why a new exaggerated threat has been created in the form of military veterans, libertarians, patriots and any one else who may bump into the truth because of their hobbies or principles. The proliferation of true information in real time on the internet creates a problem, this site is an example, but the police state has been ready for it with the wide surveillance web on the internet.

The theme of overzealous spying of course goes back to J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI files in the 1950’s. Washington’s Blog on the pre-9/11 spying by the government.

The government’s spying on Americans began before 9/11 (confirmed here and here. And see this)

The new world order fights the problem of the alternative media with propaganda, disinformation and surveillance. It is amplified by the state of emergency provisions which allow for many rights to be abrogated, especially related to detention without due process. With the 2012 version of the National Defense Authorization Act, the police state can go further than the Patriot Act and indefinitely detain American citizens under the thin veil of being “suspected of aiding terrorists”. The detainment of individuals can be so secret that we don’t know even know of a confirmed case justified by this indefinite detention provision. What is clear however, is that the state of emergency provides wide latitude to shred the basic constitutional rights of Americans, legally and without much oversight, leaving the door open for abuse of that power.

The ongoing state of emergency is not something that gets reported on much and it is unclear if it still in effect in its broadest sense but what is visible is the stream of legal updates designed to tie up the legal loose ends and make some enhancements to martial law provisions. Whether the old orders are still continued is possibly moot by the fact that new provisions provide the same “emergency” loopholes.

The excerpt below from
Washington’s Blog details the timeline of this state of emergency from September 14, 2001 until the article was written February 2011.

The United States has been in a declared state of emergency from September 2001, to the present. Specifically, on September 11, 2001, the government declared a state of emergency. That declared state of emergency was formally put in writing on 9/14/2001:

A national emergency exists by reason of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, New York, New York, and the Pentagon, and the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks on the United States.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, I hereby declare that the national emergency has existed since September 11, 2001 . . . .

That declared state of emergency has continued in full force and effect from 9/11 to the present. President Bush kept it in place, and President Obama has also.

For example, on September 10, 2009, President Obama issued his continuation of the declaration of national emergency:

CONTINUATION OF NATIONAL EMERGENCY DECLARED BY PROC. NO. 7463
Notice of President of the United States, dated Sept. 10, 2009, 74 F.R. 46883, provided:

Consistent with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. 1622(d), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared on September 14, 2001, in Proclamation 7463, with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the continuing and immediate threat of further attacks on the United States.

Because the terrorist threat continues, the national emergency declared on September 14, 2001, and the powers and authorities adopted to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond September 14, 2009. Therefore, I am continuing in effect for an additional year the national emergency the former President declared on September 14, 2001, with respect to the terrorist threat.

This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.
Barack Obama.

An on September 10, 2010, President Obama declared:

Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. 1622(d), provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless, prior to the anniversary date of its declaration, the President publishes in the Federal Register and transmits to the Congress a notice stating that the emergency is to continue in effect beyond the anniversary date. Consistent with this provision, I have sent to the Federal Register the enclosed notice, stating that the emergency declared with respect to the terrorist attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, is to continue in effect for an additional year.

The terrorist threat that led to the declaration on September 14, 2001, of a national emergency continues. For this reason, I have determined that it is necessary to continue in effect after September 14, 2010, the national emergency with respect to the terrorist threat.

The Washington Times wrote on September 18, 2001:

Simply by proclaiming a national emergency on Friday, President Bush activated some 500 dormant legal provisions, including those allowing him to impose censorship and martial law.

Is the Times correct? Well, it is clear that pre-9/11 declarations of national emergency have authorized martial law. For example, as summarized by a former fellow for the Hoover Institution and the National Science Foundation, and the recipient of numerous awards, including the Gary Schlarbaum Award for Lifetime Defense of Liberty, Thomas Szasz Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Cause of Civil Liberties, Lysander Spooner Award for Advancing the Literature of Liberty and Templeton Honor Rolls Award on Education in a Free Society:

In 1973, the Senate created a Special Committee on the Termination of the National Emergency (subsequently redesignated the Special Committee on National Emergencies and Delegated Emergency Powers) to investigate the matter and to propose reforms. Ascertaining the continued existence of four presidential declarations of national emergency, the Special Committee (U.S. Senate 1973, p. iii) reported:

These proclamations give force to 470 provisions of Federal law. . . . taken together, [they] confer enough authority to rule the country without reference to normal constitutional processes. Under the powers delegated by these statutes, the President may: seize property; organize and control the means of production; seize commodities; assign military forces abroad; institute martial law; seize and control all transportation and communications; regulate the operation of private enterprise; restrict travel; and, in a plethora of particular ways, control the lives of all American citizens.

(Most or all of the emergency powers referred to by the above-quoted 1973 Senate report were revoked in the late 1970′s by 50 U.S.C. Section 1601. However, presidents have made numerous declarations of emergency since then, and the declarations made by President Bush in September 2001 are still in effect).

It is also clear that the White House has kept substantial information concerning its presidential proclamations and directives hidden from Congress. For example, according to Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists Project on Government Secrecy:

Of the 54 National Security Presidential Directives issued by the [George W.] Bush Administration to date, the titles of only about half have been publicly identified. There is descriptive material or actual text in the public domain for only about a third. In other words, there are dozens of undisclosed Presidential directives that define U.S. national security policy and task government agencies, but whose substance is unknown either to the public or, as a rule, to Congress.

This passage from the same article lays out the difficulty in even investigating the CoG plans.

Indeed, the White House has specifically refused to share information about Continuity of Government plans with the Homeland Security Committee of the U.S. Congress, even though that Committee has proper security clearance to hear the full details of all COG plans.

Specifically, in the summer of 2007, Congressman Peter DeFazio, on the Homeland Security Committee (and so with proper security access to be briefed on COG issues), inquired about continuity of government plans, and was refused access. Indeed, DeFazio told Congress that the entire Homeland Security Committee of the U.S. Congresshas been denied access to the plans by the White House (video; or here is the transcript). The Homeland Security Committee has full clearance to view all information about COG plans. DeFazio concluded: “Maybe the people who think there’s a conspiracy out there are right”.

As University of California Berkeley Professor Emeritus Peter Dale Scott warned:

If members of the Homeland Security Committee cannot enforce their right to read secret plans of the Executive Branch, then the systems of checks and balances established by the U.S. Constitution would seem to be failing.

To put it another way, if the White House is successful in frustrating DeFazio, then Continuity of Government planning has arguably already superseded the Constitution as a higher authority.

If you are asking what the big deal is still, consider that the 2013 NDAA added a provision making it completely legal for the government to issue propaganda or provide false info. So now, the government can lie to you about anything it wants, with virtually no consequences. Consider the possible uses for the state of emergency plans from the same article below.

The erosion of liberties since 9/11 is obvious to those paying attention but the veil of secrecy created by the legalese in US executive orders and continuity of government plans is something we all need to be aware of since the “indefinite detention” provision is in effect. The only reference you should need is the case of Brandon Raub who was almost “disappeared” and brainwashed in a psychiatric ward for his facebook opinions on 9/11.
