WTF News filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the National Institute of Standards and Technology on April 20th, 2014 for various records related to inconsistencies in public records of the September 11th attacks.

Materials related to FOIA request #DOC-NIST-000823 were received with the package adhesive after being fully opened and re-closed as a formality. The letter stated 4 CDs were shipped, and 4 CDs were received. It’s not clear what was done to the package.

The FOIA request was filed as part of the 9/11 Accountability Team investigation into the agency’s disputed reports on the World Trade Center attacks.

NIST has been under increased scrutiny recently after rejecting a complaint referred by the Inspector General which describes the likely fraudulent conclusions in its report on the collapse of WTC 7.
